The Terra Spike is ideal on golf courses and football pitches to remove all compaction, it goes down to a depth 12/14 inches.
The Earthquake Machine works completely differently to the vertidrain unit. Blades are driven forwards into the ground to cut a slot to the depth required to break up the pan. It works well in hard conditions, causing fissuring of the surface, improving its results. As with vertidraining, best result are gained by following up with an application of sand. This is then given a similar function to sandslitting but at a far reduced cost.

Sports Grounds Construction & Maintenance Including Football Pitch Maintenance
We run two compact tractors for all our small work. Whether landscaping or sports ground maintenance or construction and golf course work we have many different attachments to suit each job. These include stone buriers and rotovator/parrow harrow.
The Rotorake is ideal for goal mouth work on sports pitches, renovation and levelling depressions.
We have a three metre Parrow Harrow to undertake bigger jobs, such as football pitch construction or football pitch maintenance and parks, resulting in a good level finish.
We use our 2.6 metre stone burrier for areas with stone problems. This machine will bury stones 10 inches below ground level and leave you with a fine seed bed.
For areas which need to be perfectly flat the Laser Grader enables us to produce a level playing surface when constructing sports and cricket pitches. It also levels surfaces on roadways etc.
Whitehall operates a 2.4m vertidrain which is ideal for large sports turf areas such as Football Pitches, Rugby Pitches, Hockey Pitches, Cricket Outfields and Golf Fairways. A vertidrain works by forcing large spikes into the ground and once in, kicks on its outward motion. The amount of kick can be adjusted. This motion breaks any deep compaction and thus improves drainage and aeration. This operation is usually followed by an application of silica sand to ensure the holes stay open as long as possible.
Whitehall utilises a 6 tonne Spreader on wide turfs enabling large volumes of material to be spread evenly and efficiently. Materials uses are normally silica sand, loam, sand loam or root zone mixes depending upon requirements.
